Yesterday, June 12th, we held our first Toronto Solace User Group meeting at the RBC Center in downtown Toronto. We’ve been having user group meetings in other cities for several years and it was very gratifying to see such a critical mass of Solace-experienced people now in Toronto.

The evening kicked off with presentations from Josh Carroll of RBC and Marc Gunter of  CIBC, each of whom gave an overview of their experiences with Solace to date, along with valuable lessons learned.

josh and markshawn and demoSolace’s CTO Shawn McAllister then followed with an update on the recently announced Solace 3500 series message routers and a selection of the new features in SolOS 7.0, the latest version of our firmware. Shawn also gave a hands on tour of one of the new Solace 3560 messaging routers. It was remarkable to see how many people had been working with Solace for years, but had never seen the hardware before last night.

The audience was a good mix of longtime users and those just beginning to work with Solace. Afterwards, there was a social hour during which attendees spent time getting to know each other, and enjoying hors d’oeuvres,  refreshments, beer and wine.

Feedback was very positive and enthusiasm was high. We look forward to doing the same in New York and London in the coming weeks.
