Asgent, Inc. (President & CEO: Takahiro Sugimoto, located in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a pioneer in providing security, solution-focused virtualization, operations management and acceleration solutions, today announced an agreement with Solace Systems (Canada), the leading provider of middleware appliances, to distribute Solace message routers in Japan.

Securities trading, FX trading and market reporting systems are built on complex networks consisting of dozens of servers running middleware software, working in tandem with multiple subsystems to process information instantaneously and accurately. However, systems departments are faced with the need to accurately process ever-increasing volumes of information while reducing costs in order to compete. As a global leader in messaging acceleration and operations management solutions Solace Systems, in cooperation with Asgent, is poised to deliver critical solutions to the financial services market.

The Solace message router has been adopted by major financial institutions around the world for market data distribution, order matching, next-generation FX trading, and as a standardized global platform providing messaging functionality with extremely high throughput and low latency.

“As in North America and Europe, we are encountering rapid change in the requirements for messaging middleware in the Asia Pacific market, especially in the financial services sector, ” said Kent Nash, regional vice president Asia Pacific at Solace Systems. “In order to better serve our customers in this region, we are growing our staff and developing a robust distribution and service ecosystem.”

Proof of concepts have already been completed by multiple Japanese end users, with Asgent and Solace expecting to accelerate sales and deployment of the message router in several enterprises between 2011 and the beginning of 2012..

Solace Message Router Features

High performance and high reliability

  • Enables throughput and performance equivalent to as many as ten to thirty servers running software middleware as a result of Solace’s unique hardware messaging architecture
  • Provides a unified messaging platform that combines pub/sub style reliable messaging, fully fault tolerant MQ-style guaranteed messaging, and efficient WAN-based messaging on a single architecture
  • Provides high throughput with predictable, low latency even at peak periods

Reduced costs and improved manageability

  • Reduces costs dramatically by consolidating from ten to thirty servers and corresponding messaging software licenses into a single Solace message router
  • Unified management and a smaller number of messaging nodes improves operations manageability and reduces management costs
  • Allows easy integration with existing systems through the JMS (Java Messaging Service) API v1.1
