In an increasingly digital world, the effective movement of data across multiple platforms, applications and devices is the key to success and increased productivity for any enterprise. Solace ran its first CIO Think Tank event in Mumbai on April 20, 2017. The focus of this conclave was discussing how accelerating information flow within the extended enterprise can enable digital transformation, and sharing some real world journeys of enterprises on this path.

We were excited that Mr Jordan Reeves, Consul General for High Commission of Canada in Mumbai welcomed attendees with opening remarks. Our global head of systems engineering, Sumeet Puri presented the innovative concept of Digital Data River, which is  an event streaming and big data backbone deployed for hybrid cloud spanning multiple clouds and datacenters in a WAN optimized and lossless manner. You can watch a recorded version of the same presentation on-demand webinar here.

Sumeet also discussed event-driven architectures and how data movement patterns vary across such architectures as well as shared various use cases. This was a great lead-in to the exciting panel discussion session which featured CIOs from Bharti Airtel, Bombay Stock Exchange and Tech Mahinda. Great discussion with all panelists and the IT leaders gave insight into the challenges faced by CIOs in India as they aim for seamless data movement across complex infrastructure. One of the key takeaways was that when moving to the cloud organizations should consider choosing a solution that uses open standards protocols to avoid getting locked in to the distribution fabric.

Over 20+ IT leaders were also gathered to have the enjoyable networking dinner with Solace executives, sharing and exchanges ideas in a relaxing environment.  Here are some pics from the event.
