External Embedded
Solace provides the connector code which is then installed and executed in an external data processing runtime such as Apache Spark or Kafka Connect. Examples of these include: PubSub+ Connector for Kafka or Beam I/O.
Broker Integrated
The connector capability is configured on your PubSub+ Event Brokers using REST delivery point (RDP), without external code. Examples of these include PubSub+ Connector for Azure Event Hub Producer and AWS Lambda Producer via API Gateway.
Partner Integrated
The connector is part of a data integration framework provided by a Solace partner with many connectors available. Example of these include Amazon S3 Origin, IBM MQ Series Producer, SAP ERP On Premise Source, Dell Boomi iPaaS all provided by different partners.
Source
The connector reads data from the endpoint service. For example, the Amazon SQS Consumer connector reads data from the endpoint service Amazon SQS.
Target
The connector writes data to the endpoint service. For example, the PubSub+ Kafka Sink Connector writes data to Apache Kafka.
Free
Included in the PubSub+ event broker licenses. No additional licenses are required. Example includes Azure Event Hub Producer.
Vendor Licensed
Additional license(s) may need to be purchased. Example includes Amazon S3 Origin.
OSS with Support Plans
The connector is available through an open-source license and is community supported. Solace Support is available for purchase. Examples of these include: PubSub+ Connector for Kafka or Beam I/O.
