New System Enables Dynamic Information Bundling for Global Logistics Coordination
Ottawa, Canada, October 30, 2006 – Solace Systems, the leader in value-added services (VAS) routing systems, and Core Transport Technologies (Core TT), a global logistics technology provider, today announced the integration of Solace’s VRS/32 Value-Added Services Routing System into the Core Logistics Coordinator (CLC) service. The service enables third-and fourth-party logistics suppliers to more effectively manage resources across the supply chain.
Core TT’s service tracks multiple third-party logistics firms within a supply chain, such as freight forwarders, packers, carriers and container providers, to coordinate the flow of information and track handover points. With its new network infrastructure based on Solace’s Value-Added Services Routing System, Core TT can now provide Dynamic Information Bundling (DIB). This technology automatically groups logistical information to help supply chain managers see information about a freight consignment from pickup to delivery.
“Today’s supply chain managers are forced to adopt the tools of their third-party logistics supplier to coordinate shipment deliveries and manage logistics risk, ” said Peter Ashton, Vice President of Product Development, Solace Systems. “Solace’s router is allowing Core TT to give users the power to have precisely the logistical information they require in real time to save on IT integration costs and help them make more informed business decisions.”
The Solace-supported Core Logistics Coordinator service creates a scaleable real-time network for information sharing and tracking by moving hardware-assisted content filtering and routing into the core of a logistics network. With the CLC, all members of a supply chain are loosely coupled, which means they can publish updates into the logistics network and dynamically manage their own subscriptions for data – within the constraints of their security profile – without having to know who is sending or receiving data, or the native data format of the consuming and publishing applications.
“Working with Solace is giving us the opportunity to build upon the success of our CLC to create a solution that meets the needs of even the largest logistics firms, ” said Ian Craig, director of Core TT. “We are committed to providing improved functionality and usability while giving global-scale third-and fourth-party logistics companies an alternative partner.”
