At the Canada-India Business Forum, Solace highlights its work in India’s telecom market

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, March 12, 2018 – Solace, the leading provider of data movement technology, was recognized as a chosen voice in the India-Canada CEO Dialogue, which occurred Feb. 23 in New Delhi. As one of 20 company leaders selected by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Solace CEO Les Rechan represented the only Canada-based information technology company to join the conversation in addressing significant bilateral investment opportunities and strategies for driving both digital economies forward.

As the world’s fastest-growing major economy, India is a priority market for Canada, and the two countries inked deals worth $1 billion during Trudeau’s trade trip to strengthen their partnership.

Supporting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Digital India,” Solace contributes to this partnership through its work enabling New Delhi-based Bharti Airtel, the third largest mobile operator in the world, to pass recharge information to the benefit posting system, which allows 97% of their customers to receive their customized additional minutes or data within seconds.

More recently, Reliance Jio, the world’s largest mobile data network and India’s fastest-growing telecommunications company, selected Solace for their messaging middleware appliance to support faster customer onboarding and provisioning.

“Through Airtel and Jio alone we’ve helped to connect over 450 million citizens in India,” said Rechan. “Our smart data movement capabilities empower our clients to meet the high-performance requirements necessary to reach across the country. I’m proud to lead a company dedicated to identifying new initiatives and markets, and honored to contribute to the rapid growth of India’s digital economy.”

Research from Deloitte predicts India’s focus on digitalization will cause its Internet of Things (IoT) global market size, which already stands at an estimated 43%, to grow from $1.3 billion to $9 billion by 2020.

“We are impacting hundreds of millions of lives here and we take that responsibility seriously,” said Arvind Khurana, Solace’s Regional Vice President for the Indian Subcontinent. “This opportunity allowed us to deepen already strong relationships and has inspired us to seek new opportunities to serve others in the market and in the region.”

With offices in Delhi and Mumbai, and plans to expand into Bangalore, Solace is looking to bolster India’s continued digital growth by forwarding its expansion into a variety of sectors, including government, telecommunications, transportation, IoT, and financial services.
