Ottawa, Canada, August 31, 2004 – Solace Systems, the leader in carrier-scale multiservice message routing, announced today that Shawn McAllister has joined as Chief Architect and VP of Quality Assurance. Mr. McAllister will lead the architecture and quality teams at a critical juncture in the rollout of the company’s flagship 3200 product.

With over 15 years working in various aspects of network equipment R&D, Mr. McAllister complements the engineering team with extensive experience in network system architecture, design, and development. He also brings in-depth knowledge of quality programs to the task of ensuring Solace customer deliverables meet the highest standards of robustness and availability.

Before joining Solace, Mr. McAllister was responsible for PNNI and ATM switched services at Alcatel Canada, where he led teams mandated with system development and test operations for the carrier-grade product line. Mr. McAllister was also an active participant in related industry forums and authored numerous technical specifications that are now industry standards.
