Every second counts when data is in motion. Whether it’s identifying suspicious activity, reacting to customer interactions, or keeping supply chains humming, organizations need to tap into real-time data to make smarter, faster decisions. Success hinges on the ability to seamlessly capture, stream, and analyze events as they happen.

Microsoft’s new Fabric connector for PubSub+ gives enterprises an easy way to stream events from their Solace event broker directly into Microsoft Fabric’s analytics environment. This integration bridges the gap between event-driven architecture and business intelligence.

    Unlock Real-Time Integration

Traditionally, it’s taken a lot of work to connect streaming platforms with analytics tools, often involving intermediary layers, manual mappings, and custom pipelines. The new Fabric connector for Solace PubSub+ changes that.

    Key Technical Advantages:

    • Native Integration via Eventstream
The connector is built directly into Microsoft Fabric’s Real-Time hub under the Eventstream feature. Users can select Solace PubSub+ as a data source with just a few clicks—no need for custom code or third-party bridges.
    • Zero Middleware Complexity
Unlike earlier approaches that required bridging via Kafka or configuring both Solace and Fabric independently, the connector removes friction from the process. Simply input the Solace broker URL, credentials, topic or queue name, and VPN name, and you’re streaming in real time.
    • Low-Latency Event Ingestion
Events published to Solace brokers appear in Microsoft Fabric Eventstream within seconds, enabling rapid reaction and analytics on live data. This low-latency performance is ideal for use cases like IoT telemetry, financial transactions, or supply chain monitoring.
    • Secure and Configurable
Connection parameters such as SMF URL, credentials, and target topics or queues are configurable through the Microsoft Fabric UI, giving users full control over authentication and data routing.

Powerful Real-Time Analytics in Microsoft Fabric

Once events flow into Fabric through the connector, organizations can take full advantage of Microsoft Fabric Real-Time Intelligence, including:

    • Eventhouse: Query and analyze real-time data using Kusto Query Language (KQL), and visualize results in dashboards.
    • Activator: Trigger alerts and notifications based on defined patterns—through email, Teams, or other channels.
    • Derived Streams: Transform incoming Solace data and share it with other teams or applications for continued analysis or action.
    • Custom Endpoints: Build event-driven applications by connecting to Fabric Eventstream directly.

Get Started with Just a Few Clicks

The connector is now available in public preview. Simply:

    1. Go to the Real-Time hub in Microsoft Fabric.
    2. Add a new data source and select Solace PubSub+.
    3. Provide your Solace connection details (SMF endpoint, username/password, topic/queue name, and message VPN).
    4. Start publishing events and watch them appear live in Eventstream.

From Events to Insights—Faster Than Ever

This integration empowers teams to quickly connect enterprise-grade event streaming with real-time analytics. By eliminating the overhead of complex configurations, it enables data engineers, architects, and analysts to leverage benefits that focus on outcomes rather than plumbing, such as:

    • Simplified Integration Process: The connector simplifies the integration process, allowing users to connect real-time events from Solace brokers into Microsoft Fabric’s Eventstream with minimal configuration. This streamlined approach reduces the need for extensive setup and enables quicker deployment of real-time analytics solutions.
    • Robust Data Handling: Leveraging Solace’s event mesh capabilities, the connector ensures reliable and efficient data distribution across various environments, facilitating seamless data flow into Microsoft Fabric for comprehensive analysis.
    • Comprehensive Analytics: Once integrated, data from Solace PubSub+ can be processed using Microsoft Fabric’s Real-Time Intelligence features, such as Eventhouse for large-scale event analysis, Activator for real-time alerts, and Derived streams for data transformation, enabling organizations to derive actionable insights from their real-time data streams.

With Solace PubSub+ and Microsoft Fabric working together, organizations can transform streaming data into operational intelligence faster and more efficiently than ever.
