In September Solace announced participation in the Secure City Technology Alliance (SCTA), an initiative that integrates complementary technologies to provide local and federal governments with integrated solutions for security, emergency response, surveillance and sensor networks.

Late last week, SCTA unveiled a new deal with Export Development Canada (EDC), Canada’s export credit agency, a Canadian crown corporation that funded over $80B in projects in 2009. The alliance is working closely with EDC to identify opportunities for the application of SCTA technology to current and recently funded EDC projects.

Eric Siegel, President and CEO of EDC, summarized it well:

“EDC’s mandate is to provide commercial solutions and advice to globally-minded Canadian companies to help them succeed internationally. The Secure City Technology Alliance is a great opportunity to support a diverse group of Canadian companies delivering integrated, best-of-breed technology to a large and growing global market.”

We look forward to working with EDC and the rest of the SCTA to bring improved security to governments and other organizations around the world.
