Solace Cloud Now Scales to our Largest Event Broker Capacity
Solace Cloud services top-end service class now supports our largest Enterprise 200K broker size. This represents a critical milestone in the adoption of the event mesh as a cloud service and is in direct response to expanding large enterprise deeds as informed directly by our largest customers (who requested it).
Before we continue, we will explain more about the tier naming structure to avoid confusion for those less familiar with Solace. Rather than a generic name like “big, bigger, biggest” we chose to name our tiers based on one of the scaling parameters that does tend to move somewhat linearly so that the scaling can be quickly understood by customers.
The 200K tier increases the combined number of connections to a max of 200,000 per-broker with related increases across the board for broker scaling. Meaning a 200K Event Broker as a cloud managed service is a significant jump across a number of capacity limits and is operated on much larger infrastructure to support it. This enables large-scale real-time streaming integrations running in the cloud.
Why we built this
It is a class the market didn’t demand when we launched Solace Platform as a cloud managed service years ago. At that time, the largest and most sophisticated customers had these types of workloads on-premise. But the market marches forward and we are happy to acknowledge and respond with continuing growth in our cloud services.
We built and validated the new tier against serious loads: sustained high-volume ingress, replication turned on, thousands of queues, real fanout, during an actual seasonal peak, not a synthetic benchmark run in a lab. That’s the bar we held it to before calling it done.
If your event mesh is the backbone for something that has a “busy season” like a retail peak, a travel surge, a market open or simply grows to large scale. This tier exists so you don’t have to choose between staying on a managed service and having enough headroom to get through it.
What this means for you
- You scale up, not out. Growing past your current limits means moving to a bigger managed tier, not standing up and operating additional broker clusters, partitions, or shards yourself. That’s a meaningfully different operational story than platforms where scale is something you build and maintain.
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery travel with you. The 200K tier is a first-class service class, not a special case bolted on for one workload. Redundancy and disaster recovery work the way they do at every other tier.
- It’s proven under pressure, not just provisioned. This tier earned its limits under real peak-season conditions, so the headroom you see in the service class table is headroom we’ve watched hold up.

The Enterprise 200K service class is available now but is not out of the box by default.
