Over 100 Solace customers and partners came together at the Singapore Cricket Club on September 18, 2019 to learn about Solace’s latest news and product advances, and to hear fellow customers share their Solace technology implementation insights. Note: see the full deck below of what we presented.
We had three guest speakers (from Singapore Land Transport Authority, Standard Chartered and ChatQ).
The first session was delivered by Srinath Sripada Rao, the Head of Middleware, Strategic Programs & Solution Architecture at Standard Chartered. Rao spoke about event-driven transformation within enterprise banking and how Solace PubSub+ Event Broker helps them achieve it.
Next, we had Herng Hsi Tan, Manager, Public Transport IT Infrastructure, Innovation & InfoComm Technology Group, from Land Transport Authority. Tan shared the overview of their FASTER initiative program—an advanced analytics solution that provides early warning on potential train incidents for timely intervention.
Next, we had T Kiang Tan, CIO of Grasshopper and Founder & CEO of ChatQ, demonstrate their capability in social and bot-based trading with integrated market data, bots, watch lists and chat for consumers. Solace is the hybrid cloud elastic event streaming backbone for moving trading and chatting events.
From there, Sumeet Puri, our Global Head of Systems Engineering, provided a technical perspective on what it means to be “event-driven”: business agility, digital transformation, and architectural flexibility as key outcomes. Sumeet gave a recipe for becoming event-driven, and discussed Solace’s new Event Horizon initiative.
Last but not least, our Developer Advocate Aaron Lee gave a technical demonstration of a topic hierarchy visualization tool, which allows Solace developers and architects to navigate through the hierarchical structure of Solace topics (be sure to check out solace.dev if you haven’t already).
We wrapped up the night by inviting our attendees to participate in a lucky draw with one winner walking away with a pair of Formula 1 Singapore Final Race tickets. After the presentations and demo, a cocktail session gave attendees the opportunity to enjoy refreshments and, of course, discuss their event-driven architecture, IoT implementations and overall digital transformations.
Thank you to everyone who joined in on the fun! We hope to see you again at our future events.
