Technology Veteran to Guide and Strengthen Product Strategy

Ottawa , Canada , December 12, 2006 – Solace Systems, the leader in IP value-added services (VAS) routing systems, today announced the appointment of industry veteran James Powell as the company’s new chief technology officer (CTO). Mr. Powell will be responsible for driving the company’s product strategy as well as working closely with customers to understand detailed product and solution requirements.

With over 20 years of experience in message routing and content distribution, Mr. Powell will bring a unique perspective to further enhance Solace’s middleware and networking expertise. Prior to joining Solace, Mr. Powell spent six years with Reuters, most recently as CTO and global head of product development. He also spent three years as CTO of TIBCO Finance.

Mr. Powell holds a M.Sc. in Robotics and a B. Sc. in mathematics from Imperial College, London, in the United Kingdom.
