Les Rechan

President and CEO

Les Rechan is a seasoned board member, software industry leader and venture investor.

Bio

Les is a PROS (NYSE: PRO) and MicroStrategy (NASDAQ: MSTR) Board Member. He brings to those boards a broad range of software experience from some of the world’s leading technology organizations.

Rechan was previously President and CEO of Halogen Software (TSX: HGN), from July 2015 until Halogen merged with Saba Software in May 2017. Headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, Halogen was an organically built cloud-based talent management suite that reinforces and drives higher performance across all talent programs, from recruiting and performance management, to learning and development, succession planning and compensation.

Rechan previously served as General Manager of IBM’s multi billion dollar Business Analytics Division. He retired from IBM in 2014 after 30 years in the enterprise technology solutions industry.

He has also served as Chief Operating Officer of Cognos prior to its acquisition by IBM in 2008, and has held global executive leadership roles with Oracle, Siebel Systems, Cadence Design Systems and Onyx Software. Rechan currently serves as a board advisor to Cognitive Scale, an industry cognitive cloud solutions company, and Jasci, a modern warehouse management and supply chain cloud solutions company. Les is also and Executive Fellow at Mistral Venture Partners and a Venture Partner at The Entrepreneurs Fund.

He earned a master’s degree in management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and B.A. in organizational behavior and management from Brown University.

Denis King

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. King is responsible for ensuring Solace’s success by overseeing business operations that leverage the company’s technology and expertise to capitalize on market opportunity.
Bio

He is also tasked with ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of functions including alliances, engineering, finance, marketing and sales, professional services and technical support.

Mr. King was Solace’s first systems engineer, and has been instrumental in helping the company and its customers achieve success in a variety of leadership roles as Solace’s business has grown beyond capital markets and telecommunications to serve increasingly diverse markets and use cases. In particular, he has worked closely with customers to identify and meet their needs as they architect and implement increasingly sophisticated systems that meet the data movement requirements of trends like big data, cloud migration, digital transformation and the Internet of Things.

Prior to joining Solace, Mr. King worked for Newbridge Networks, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick.

Ken Wigglesworth

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Wigglesworth is responsible for all of the company’s financial operations and strategic business planning.

Bio

From 2000 until joining Solace, Mr. Wigglesworth was with Newbury Ventures, a private equity firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area, as a Senior Managing Director. Prior to Newbury Ventures, Mr. Wigglesworth spent 13 years at Newbridge Networks, the last four as CFO. He was a member of the senior management team from the time he joined the company (when it was pre-revenue), until 2000, at which time he presided over the sale of Newbridge to Alcatel (now Alcatel Lucent) for $8 billion.

In his time at Newbridge and Newbury, Mr. Wigglesworth served on over 20 boards, oversaw several public offerings, and was a principal participant in more than 30 acquisitions as both buyer and seller. Mr. Wiggleworth earned his designation as a Chartered Accountant from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1987 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.

Alex Kilgour

Chief Legal Officer

Mr. Kilgour is responsible for the company’s legal and human resources functions.

Bio

Prior to joining Solace, Alex was a partner with the global law firm, Dentons, where he advised technology companies and their investors in corporate finance, corporate governance, M&A, IP licensing and related corporate matters. He has been advising technology companies since 2000. Prior to being a lawyer, Alex was a landscape architect and urban designer.

Mychelle Mollot

Chief Marketing Officer

Ms. Mollot is responsible for all aspects of Solace’s marketing strategy and operations.

Bio

Before joining Solace Mychelle was the Chief Marketing Officer of Klipfolio, a SaaS analytics company with responsibility for Marketing and Product Management.

Prior to that, she was Vice President and CMO for the Websphere and Business Analytics divisions of IBM where she launched the Smarter Analytics component of IBM’s Smarter Planet.

Mychelle has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Geophysics from Queen’s University.

Tim Wong

Chief Revenue Officer

Mr. Wong is based in Singapore, Wong has lived in Asia since 1996 in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo and Sydney.

Bio

Prior to Solace, he worked at IBM for over 25 years and was most recently General Manager, Enterprise, for IBM Australia/New Zealand. Wong has led pan-Asian, global and industry organisations in Telecommunications, Media, Retail, Banking, SME and start-up’s during times of significant structural transformation. Wong has travelled extensively and worked with clients, business partners and industry bodies from around the world on their most important strategic opportunities and pressing challenges. Wong has a Bachelor of Commerce and Adminstration from Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand.

Shawn McAllister

Chief Technology Officer

Mr. McAllister is responsible for Solace’s strategic product direction, for deepening Solace’s understanding of requirements across industries, evangelizing our technology, and working with customers to identify ways our technology can add value their business.

Bio

Mr. McAllister has participated in the definition of various OASIS messaging protocol standards including AMQP 1.0, MQTT 3.1.1 and MQTT 5.0.

Prior to joining Solace, Mr. McAllister led software, hardware, and test engineering teams at Newbridge Networks (later Alcatel Canada), where he was responsible for the development of features on ATM and Ethernet switches as well as the 7750 Multiservice IP Router.

Mr. McAllister holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, with majors in both Computer Science and Combinatorics/Optimization.

Paul Fitzpatrick

Chief Business Development Officer

Mr. Fitzpatrick leads global alliances, channels and technology partnerships for Solace.

Bio

Previously he held executive roles with leading technology companies including Halogen Software, where he was CMO, through its’ acquisition by Saba Software. Mr. Fitzpatrick also spent 12 years Cognos and IBM where he held a variety of executive roles including CMO of the Enterprise Content Management division; Head of Technology Partnerships and Channel Operations for the Business Analytics division and leading a variety of growth, acquisition, and new market entry initiatives. Mr. Fitzpatrick received an MPA from Queen’s University and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.

Jonathan Bosloy

SVP, Product Development and Operations

Mr. Bosloy is responsible for all aspects of product development, including engineering, product management and QA.

Bio

Mr. Bosloy has also been responsible for spearheading the rapidly expanding portfolio of patents covering the company’s intellectual property.

Prior to Solace, Mr. Bosloy was director of systems at Ceyba, a developer of optical networking equipment, and held senior engineering roles on ATM and IP products at Newbridge Networks. Mr. Bosloy graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor’s degree in Systems and Computer Engineering.

Craig Betts founded Solace with the vision of embedding application intelligence directly into networks, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Queen’s University.

Tom Manley

Lead Director

Tom Manley is a Senior Principal of Bridge Growth Partners and serves on the Investment Committee, and is Chairman of Accedian, Lead Director of Solace, and a Director of Finalsite.

He has more than three decades of experience within the technology sector. Manley most recently served as CFO of Avaya, a provider of business communications and collaboration systems. He was previously CFO and Senior Vice President of Administration at Cognos, a business intelligence and performance management software company acquired by IBM in 2008.

Before that, he served in management positions at Nortel Networks and General Motors of Canada. He currently serves on the board of directors of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Mr. Manley previously served on the boards of Deltek, JDA Software, RedPrairie, DragonWave and Elastic Networks. He graduated from Carleton University with a bachelor of engineering with distinction, and holds an M.B.A. degree from Queen’s University.

Dave Barnes is a Senior Advisor to Bridge Growth Partners with extensive experience across the technology industry.

Under his leadership as CIO and Senior Vice President for United Parcel Service,, UPS invested more than $1 billion each year in technology used to serve more than 220 countries and territories around the world. Barnes was a member of the UPS Management Committee and served on the Finance, Risk, and Strategy committees. In addition he chaired the Technology steering committee. Barnes, who joined UPS in 1977, held roles in engineering, finance and information systems before being named CIO in 2005. Barnes is also currently a Director of Ingram Micro and Hertz Global.

Michael Capellas

Michael Capellas

Michael Capellas, CEO of strategic technology advisory firm Capellas Partners, joined the Solace Board in October 2016. Capellas currently serves on the boards of Cisco, Flextronics, JDA and MuleSoft, and on the advisory boards of Deutsche Bank and Kony. He is also a senior advisor to Blackstone.

Bio

Capellas’ career as a global technology leader has spanned from innovative technology start-ups to large corporate turnarounds. For 15 years he worked for Schlumberger, followed by positions at Oracle and SAP. In 1999, Capellas was named CEO of Compaq Computer Corporation and in 2000 added the title of Chairman. In the following years, he served as president of Hewlett Packard, chairman and CEO of Worldcom (renamed MCI), and chairman and CEO of First Data Corporation. From 2009-2012, Capellas served as founding chairman and CEO of VCE, the Virtual Computing Company, a joint venture between Cisco, EMC, and VMware which developed and commercialized an innovative platform for cloud computing. While at VCE, he also served as co-chair of the Federal Commission on Deployment of the Cloud, comprised of 71 leading companies and universities, who finalized a set of recommendations for driving U.S. cloud adoption. He graduated from Kent State University and lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

Randy Cowen

Randolph (Randy) Cowen

Randy Cowen joined Solace’s board in November 2017. He served as the co-Chief Administrative Officer of the Goldman Sachs Group from October 2007 until his retirement in November 2008.

Bio

From September 2004 to November 2008, he was the Global Head of Technology and Operations for Goldman Sachs and from October 2001 to October 2007, he was the Chief Information Officer of Goldman Sachs. He was a director of EMC from January 2009 until Dell acquired EMC in October 2016. He is currently a director or GTY Technology Holding Inc. and an Bridge Growth Partners advisory board member.

Andre-Gauthier

André Gauthier

André Gauthier is Managing Partner at Tandem Expansion, a Canadian growth capital fund.

Bio

Gauthier has over 25 years of business and management experience, having served most recently as Executive Vice President and CFO of Telesystem International Wireless Inc., until it was sold to Vodafone in 2005.

Prior to his 12 years at TIW, Gauthier held senior management positions at L’Oréal Canada and Ernst & Whinney. He is also a director of Averna Technologies and Quantis International, and a former director of wireless carriers MobiFon, Oskar Mobil and Enlaces RadioFonicos.

Gauthier holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from HEC Montreal and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and has been a member of the Ordre des Comptables Agréés du Québec since 1984.

Dan-Matte

Dan Matte

Dan Matte is an experienced technology executive who was instrumental in driving F5 Networks from zero to $1.4 billion in annual sales during his career there.

As F5 Networks’ Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Dan was responsible for leading all corporate marketing and product management efforts. He also had a primary involvement in the company’s technology partnerships and corporate development activities. As one of the original F5 employees, Matte was instrumental in helping F5 pioneer the load balancing market and transforming it into a critical component of today’s networking infrastructure.

He has over 20 years of experience in the technology and data communications industries. Prior to joining F5, Matte worked with Memotec Communications, an innovator in frame relay and voice-over-frame-relay technologies, and he founded REON Corporation, a company specializing in secure remote access and wireless data communications. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University and an M.B.A. from the University of British Columbia.

Sir Terry Matthews

Sir Terence Matthews is the founder and Chairman of Wesley Clover, an investment vehicle and holding company.

Terry has either founded or funded over 80 companies since 1972 including Newbridge Networks, a company he founded in 1986 and which became a leader in the worldwide data networking industry.

In 1972, before launching Newbridge, Terry co-founded Mitel, a world leader in the design and manufacture of enterprise communications solutions. Wesley Clover now has interests in a broad range of next-generation technology companies, real estate, hotels and resorts.

In addition to being the Chairman of Wesley Clover, Terry is also Chairman or Director of a number of private and publicly traded companies.

Terry holds an honours degree in electronics from the University of Wales and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and of the Royal Academy of Engineering. In 1994, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, and in the 2001 Queen’s Birthday Honours, he was awarded a Knighthood. In 2011, he was appointed Patron of the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute.

Janet Perna is the former General Manager of Information Management within IBM’s Software Group.

In that capacity Perna she was responsible for a multi-billion dollar business focused on delivering and servicing products to help businesses world-wide manage their information assets including database management, content and records management, information integration, and business intelligence software.

Upon her retirement from IBM following more than 30 years with the company, Perna has held board positions at a number of software companies in the US and Canada, and is a member of Bridge Growth Partners’ Technology Advisory Board. She is currently a Director of Cloudmark and previously served on the Board of Directors of JDA Software, Deltek, Cognos, Flexera Software, and Varicent Software. Perna is a member of the Foundation Board of Directors at the State University of New York at Oneonta, and is also the Founder of the Perna-Rose Foundation for Hope. Perna has a B.S. in mathematics and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the State University of New York at Oneonta.

Previously he was Executive Vice President & Chief Technology Officer of Thomson Reuters and member of the Thomson Reuters Executive Committee, responsible for the company’s technology initiatives and strategy, including the application of newly emerging technologies to advance the development and delivery of intelligent information.

Prior to that, Powell held a number of senior leadership positions within Reuters including CTO for the Markets Division; CTO for Enterprise; CTO and global head of product development; head of technology strategy; and CTO for the Reuters Financial division. He has also held senior leadership positions at Solace, Citadel Investment Group and TIBCO Finance Technology. Powell has a BSc in Mathematics and an MSc in Industrial Robotics from Imperial College London.

Steve Pusey

Steve Pusey

Steve Pusey joined Solace’s board in November 2017. He brings more than 35 years of international business experience across several technology and service provider markets.

Bio

From 2006 to 2015, he served as CTO at Vodafone Group, where he was responsible for the company’s technology strategy and led its network, IT and product development operations. Mr. Pusey served on the Vodafone board from 2009 to 2015, during which he represented the board within the Verizon Wireless partnership. Prior to joining Vodafone, he held various positions at Nortel Networks Inc. including President in EMEA where he was responsible for all sales, marketing and customer operations within the region, and also spent several years with British Telecom.

He is a Bridge Growth Partners senior advisor and currently serves on the boards of directors at Accedian and Solace, both of which are portfolio companies of Bridge Growth Partners. In addition, Mr. Pusey serves on the board at Centrica, FireEye and Global Logic, is a Senior Board Advisor at Telatrix, and has also served on numerous telecom and IT advisory panels.

Mr. Pusey attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and holds certifications from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and the Haas Technical Education Center (HTEC) with distinction.

Hasan-Rizvi

Hasan Rizvi

For over two decades Hasan Rizvi has managed software development efforts of increasing size and complexity, and grown multiple products and businesses from inception into multi-billion-dollar market leaders.

He spent the bulk of his career with Oracle, most recently serving as the company’s Executive Vice President of Oracle Fusion Middleware and Java products, and has founded and led several startups.

Rizvi has deep expertise in building innovative mission-critical enterprise IT systems, and has been awarded nine patents in the area of database management. Rizvi holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of Karachi, M.S. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering Management from Rutgers University and Stanford University, respectively, and completed the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.

Alok Singh

Alok Singh is a Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Bridge Growth Partners, a leading private equity firm focused on technology and technology-enabled financial services.

Alok is also a Director of Salient CRGT, a Bridge Growth Partners portfolio company, and AlphaCat Reinsurance, an affiliate of Validus Holdings.

Prior to founding Bridge Growth Partners in June, 2013, Mr. Singh was a Managing Director at New Mountain Capital. Over the course of nearly 12 years there, Mr. Singh served as Chairman of Red Prairie and JDA Software, and as a Lead Director of Deltek, Ikaria Holdings, Camber Corporation, Stroz Friedberg and AmWINS. He also served as a Director of Validus Holdings, EverBank Financial Corp., and Avantor Performance Materials.

Mr. Singh began his investment banking career at Bankers Trust, where he was a founding member and Managing Director of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group and later became responsible for the firm’s investment banking activities in the consumer and retail sectors, leading relationships with a number of major multi-industry and consumer product clients. Mr. Singh was elected a Partner of Bankers Trust in 1994, and in 1997 he joined the financial sponsors group of BT Alex.Brown. In 2001, he joined Barclays Capital, where he established and led the Corporate Financial Advisory Group before joining New Mountain in 2002.

Mr. Singh is an advisory board member of The Center for a New American Security, a member of the Dean’s Council of Weill Cornell Medical College, and a member of New York University’s Stern School of Business Board of Overseers. He received his B.A. in economics and history and his M.B.A. in finance and international business from New York University.
