At Solace, our R&D team is ambitious and hard working. As such, sometimes there can be too many awesome product features to keep up with. If you’re a customer using PubSub+ and you would like to stay on top of new product features and how they work, you’ll love what we are offering through Solace Academy.

Monthly Feature Highlight Training

Each month we will be releasing a new course on Solace Academy that will introduce to you some of the new features for Solace PubSub+ Platform. These features could be: new functionality in our appliance, software, or cloud products; new tools to help make your PubSub+ broker life easier; or new projects to help the event streaming community as a whole.

For each highlight we’ll explain what the feature is, why we decided to create it, how it can benefit your experience with PubSub+, and how to actually use the feature.

Accessing the New Training Courses

Accessing these new training courses is as simple as signing up to the Solace Academy. You can stay up-to-date by checking out the “Monthly Feature Highlights” catalog for new training courses. You can also subscribe to our blog so you never miss a new post about PubSub+ features.

December’s Monthly Feature Highlight

Here’s what you’ll be able to learn in the December 2021 Feature Highlight:

  • The PubSub+ System Resource Calculator: Knowing what resources should be allocated to a container or VM for a PubSub+ broker requires some thought and analysis. We’ll discuss the new tool Solace has created to make that task a breeze and show you exactly how to use it.
  • Open-sourcing the AsyncAPI Discovery Tool: As part of the 2021 AsyncAPI Hackathon, Solace open sourced its discovery agent, the AsyncAPI Discovery Tool. We’ll talk about what the tool is, why it was open-sourced, and detail how to get the tool built and running locally.
  • Role-Based Access Control for Event Portal: Designing and documenting your event-driven architecture can involve a lot of objects and the last thing we want is the wrong architects accidentally modifying the wrong application domains. We’ll detail what the new role-based access control (RBAC) for PubSub+ Event Portal is, how it can help better organize access to your EDA design, and walk you through assigning the right RBAC settings to new and existing users.
  • OAuth for PubSub+ Broker Management: Solace has moved one step closer to allowing customers to use their corporate identities to authenticate against everything Solace by adding OAuth support to the PubSub+ Broker for both the PubSub+ Broker Manager and SEMPv2. Here we’ll discuss the steps to take on the Solace side to get OAuth working for your PubSub+ brokers.
