Our new developer portal has been getting good reviews during the invitation-only preview period this week. People have told us they appreciate having easy access to software downloads and product docs, along with getting started guides and code samples.

Some of you have also told us how anxious you are to download and try out our Virtual Message Router software. I’m happy to report that as of right now you can now download a fully-featured, pre-production release of the Solace VMR so you can evaluate Solace messaging for 30 days.

Back when we only sold hardware, offering our technology for evaluation required physically shipping equipment or providing access to a remote shared instance. Similarly, developing and testing applications has required connectivity to a physical appliance. With the release of the VMR, developers can now evaluate our product on anything from a laptop to a datacenter server with a simple download. And of course, any application that is developed to work with Solace technology can easily run on a production instance of the VMR or one of our Solace message router appliances without any code changes.

We’re excited about making our technology easier to access, and are confident this change will improve life for all Solace users.
